Food Processing OEM
Designed and built complete control systems for a food processing OEM's equipment lineup, ensuring consistent operation and reducing field commissioning time.
The Challenge
An OEM was providing quality equipment without a control system. This left it up to the end user to source and install a control system, which could lead to inconsistent operation, equipment dissatisfaction, and reduced product quality.
How We Solved It
- 01Designed, developed, and created control systems for each equipment type in the OEM's product line
- 02Performed full check out of control panel prior to shipment to minimize field checkout and verification of the entire system, saving time and cost
- 03Developed PLC and HMI code to ensure consistent and valid equipment operation across all installations
- 04Performed checkout, startup commissioning, and training to ensure project goals and customer satisfaction were met
The Result
The OEM was able to ship complete, pre-tested control systems with each equipment sale — reducing field commissioning time and eliminating the inconsistency of end-user-sourced controls. Customer satisfaction improved and the OEM gained a meaningful competitive advantage with a fully-integrated product offering.
